Fried Kway Teow

Zheng Xing Si Chao: Fried Kway Teow

This fried kway teow uses a mixture of kway teow and yellow noodles wok fried with sweet black sauce. Bean sprouts, some vegetables and egg are then added with see hum and fish cake slices. This fried kway teow is firm and springy with a mild sweet taste. You can also add your own crispy lard pieces. Decent.

Fried Hokkien Mee

Zheng Xing Si Chao: Fried Hokkien Mee

This fried hokkien mee uses a thick mee hoon and yellow noodles mixture wok fried in a broth with bean sprouts and egg, giving it a moist texture. Prawns and sotong slices are added, with a piece of green lime and a savoury tasting chilli paste served on the side. Optional lard pieces can be added to your liking. The fried hokkien mee tastes kind of bland though. Just average for this.

The fried oyster omelette comes with decent size oysters that are fairly juicy. The egg and starch mixture is chewy but it isn’t crispy at all. Flavours are alright though. Comes with a limey chilli dip on the side. This fried oyster omelette is quite ordinary.

Fried rice is available as well. This fried rice contains bits of crab stick and luncheon meat, fish cake slices, some bean sprouts, corn and egg. It has a nice dry texture and nice flavourings. The chilli paste on the side has a savoury taste that goes well with the fried rice. Quite likeable.
