Wanton Mee

Peng Tiong Bahru Wanton Mee is a fairly popular stall selling wanton mee. This wanton mee comes with slices of char siew stacked on a plate of tossed noodles with some vegetables. A bowl of lightly flavoured wanton soup is served on the side. Seen above is with fried wanton added.

The noodles has a nice springy texture and are tossed in a savoury seasoning sauce with a mild tint of sweet. Personally I find it a bit overly salty, but still rather nice. The char siew slices is soft and meaty with a little bit of fatty parts. It has a savoury and sweet taste.

The soup wanton has soft wanton skin wrapping a very nicely seasoned meat filling. Likewise for the fried wanton, its meat filling is soft and flavourful with a crispy wanton skin. Both types of wanton are tasty. I recommend that you add the extra fried wanton. It is a nice add on.

This serving of wanton mee is definitely a very likeable one. It will be worth a star if the noodles seasoning sauce;s saltiness level is toned down slightly. It is still quite an enjoyable wanton mee.
