Leek Hainanese Chicken Rice does the usual hainanese chicken and roast chicken rice. Seen here is their chicken rice with both hainanese chicken and roast chicken.
The chicken meat are deboned and served on a plate with cucumber slices and a savoury tasting soya sauce seasoning. The hainanese chicken meat is fairly moist and its skin is smooth. The roast chicken has moist meat too, and its skin has savoury flavours. However the chicken meat is not completely deboned, and there are still small bits of bones attached underneath the flesh.
This chicken rice comes served with a plate of lightly flavoured rice that is way too soft with too much water added. A bowl of bean sprouts flavoured soup is served on the side, as well as a saucer of garlicky chilli sauce.
This chicken rice quite ordinary and average.
Char Siew, Siu Yuk Rice
Besides chicken rice, char siew and siu yuk is sold here too. This time round, the rice is firm and decently flavoured with a sweet sauce added.
The char siew has a sweet taste, is lean and meaty but somewhat dry. The roast pork siu yuk is lean, meaty and somewhat dry as well, its skin is not crispy either. Just like the chicken rice, it comes served with the same bean sprouts flavoured soup and garlicky chilli sauce.
This is at most an average plate of char siew and siu yuk rice.
