Wanton Mee

Hua Kee Hougang Famous Wan Ton Mee is a rather popular stall selling various combos of wanton mee. Seen here is their wanton mee with fried wanton along with the usual wanton and char siew slices.

The fried wanton has a crispy wrapper with a bit of chewiness, and soft savoury flavoured filling inside. The boiled version of wanton has a soft skin wrapper, and similarly has nicely flavoured meat filing inside. Both versions are nice. As for the char siew slices, it is just a few miserable small bits of char siew. The char siew bits are quite soft but rather dry, and is its weakest link.

The tossed noodles are quite springy with nice seasoning flavours. Comes with some vegetables and smokey tasting fried shallots topped on it. The noodles comes served with a bowl of light savoury ikan bilis flavoured soup.

In my opinion, this wanton mee though imperfect, is still quite likeable. Its flavourings are pretty decent.
