Nasi Lemak

The nasi lemak sold here is pre-packed in a paper and banana leaf wrapper. Contains rice, fried kuni fish, ikan bilis and peanuts with a packet of chilli paste. The otah shown above are extra add ons.

The fried kuni fish is seasoned with nice savoury flavours and tastes rather decent. The ikan bilis and peanuts has nice savoury flavours too, however they are soft and not crispy at all. The chilli paste is also quite ordinary, spicy with a bit of sweet. As for the rice, it isn’t fragrant at all with just a very light hint of coconut milk flavours, and tastes almost like plain white rice on its own. Fortunately when mixed together with the chilli paste, it tastes much better.

This nasi lemak though quite mundane is still acceptable. A much better nasi lemak located within the same Old Airport Road Food Centre is 97 Nasi Lemak.

Otah

The otah sold here is definitely much better than its nasi lemak. The otah are sold with different options of fillings. Shown here are the traditional fish otah. The red one is the usual spicy ones and the white one is the non-spicy one.

The traditional fish otah has nice seasoning flavours and tastes nice. The non-spicy version however is a bit lacking, tastes a bit like fish cake but without the texture. Both are a bit moist and not overly dry. I definitely like the spicy one better. Thumbs up for the traditional spicy one.
