Fried Rice

Dong Ji Fried Rice does a few variations of fried rice – egg fried rice, XO egg fried rice, tom yam egg fried rice and sambal egg fried rice. A selection of meats is also available – pork chop, chicken cutlet, shrimps, beef and abalone with mentaiko.

Egg Fried Rice

This egg fried rice is very fragrant and flavourful. Its rice is firm with a little moisture. It is wok fried with eggs and chopped spring onions, with the egg almost coating every grain of rice. This fried rice is good!

Seen above is with pork chop. This piece of pork chop is soft, juicy and meaty with slightly crispy sides. It has nice seasoning flavours with a hint of peppery taste. It is likeable.

The fried rice comes with an optional Hong Kong style fried chilli oil that is crispy and spicy. It compliments the fried rice rather nicely.

XO Egg Fried Rice

The XO egg fried rice has XO sauce added to the wok fried rice with eggs and chopped spring onions. Just like the egg fried rice, the fried rice has a fairly nice dry texture with an egg coating on almost every grain of rice. You can also taste tiny bits of meat from the XO sauce. This XO egg fried rice definitely tastes nice to me.

Fried chicken cutlet is chosen here for the meat. This chicken cutlet is that taiwanese style type with a light and crispy kind of crust and soft moist chicken meat. Seasoning flavours is nice too. This fried chicken cutlet tastes good!

Sambal Egg Fried Rice

The sambal egg fried rice has sambal chilli added to the egg fried rice. Just like the egg fried rice, the sambal egg fried rice is very fragrant and has nice sambal flavours. Almost every grain of rice is coated with egg, and contains some chopped spring onions. It has a slightly spicy taste coming from the added sambal chilli.

This serving of sambal egg fried rice has shrimps added. The shrimps are of decent size and tastes rather fresh. This plate of sambal egg fried rice with shrimps tastes good. I like it!

Fried Udon

The fried udon comes with choice of either seafood or beef. Seafood is chosen here.

The fried udon contains prawns, vegetables and onion bits wok fried with egg. It has very nice wok hei with a slight little bit of charring. Flavourings is nice too. The prawns are juicy and fairly fresh. Comes with an optional chilli oil that goes rather well with the fried udon.

This plate of fried udon reminds me of Hong Kong. Its taste is somewhat similar to the fried udon found in Hong Kong. I like this one for sure. Thumbs up.

Fried Ramen

Instead of udon, fried ramen is available as well with choice of seafood or beef. Beef is chosen for this one.

The ramen noodles are wok fried with egg, some shredded vegetables, onion bits and slices of beef. The beef slices are rather soft and tender. The fried noodles has decently nice flavours of wok hei. However the noodles has a slight alkaline taste. It tastes better with the chilli oil as it helps cover the alkaline taste in the noodles.

Aside from the slight alkaline taste in the noodles, this plate of ramen is rather decent. The fried udon is definitely better in my opinion.
