Check-in, Please

At first glance from afar, the building housing Parkroyal Collection Pickering seems to be eaten up by an overgrown garden at its foot. On a closer look, it is more like having a huge vertical garden growing on the hotel itself. If first impressions matters, I am beginning to like the vibe of this place. I can imagine myself chilling in a chic yet quiet environment surrounded with lush greenery in a nice resorty atmosphere, but right in the middle of the hustles of town with Chinatown MRT station located literally next door.

A short flight of steps leads up to the hotel’s entrance with a nice landscape pool and garden on the side. The hotel lobby has high ceilings and feels spacious. The check-in desk is on the right side, rather busy but the check-in process is relatively quick.

Lobby

Directly opposite the check-in desk are some sofas and lounging chairs, overlooking the landscape garden outside through full height glass windows.

Further down the corridor is a bar counter on the right and a row of lounging chairs on the left. The lounging chairs are set next to the landscape pool outside, where the whole landscape garden and pool runs the length of the building’s exterior. Over here, you can lounge next to the pool and garden in a comfy air conditioned environment.

Right at the end is Lime Restaurant, and to the right side is the lift lobby heading up to the rooms.

You have to tap your room key card in the lift to gain access to the floor your room in on. Obviously, to unlock the door and gain access into your room too.

Urban Junior Suite

Once you have open the door and stepped inside, it is the living room area with high ceilings and large windows. Sofa and table on one side, writing desk and pantry on the other side. And look at that expansive city view!

Directly opposite the sofa is the writing desk with a wall mounted TV. There are a row of easily accessible plugs for you to plug in and get some work gone. And that chair, it is a Herman Miller Sayl.

The pantry is hidden inside a closet by the writing desk. Open it and it reveals a mini fridge at the top and a row of drawers. Pulling out the drawers reveals a coffee maker and electric kettle, and tea bags with mugs and wine glasses too.

The bedroom is a corner unit with large windows on 2 sides and a queen size bed.

This is the view from the bedroom. Very nice expansive views of the city and overlooking Hong Lim Park.

The wardrobe acts as a partition, dividing the living room and bedroom areas.

The bathroom comes with a his and hers basins with vanity mirrors and a whole load of toiletries.

On one end is the toilet and on the other end with a window is a shower room and bathtub. The shower is in a separate area just besides the bathtub and comes with a rainforest shower head.

This bathtub is something that you can lie and soak in quite comfortably. Comes with a box of bating salt on the side. Relaxing…

Facilities

Located on the level of the hotel are their wellness and recreational facilities.

There is an infinity pool located on level 5 with sun deck and colourful cabanas shaped like birdcages to laze around.

Also at the vicinity of the pool area is a gym room and a steam room.

On the other side from the pool is their garden where some herbs and vegetables are grown for use in their own restaurant.

There are also areas and cabanas in the garden where you can laze around and just enjoy the moment.

Check Out, Please

This is definitely a very enjoyable stay at Parkroyal Collection Pickering. Very chill and relaxing vibes, and very conveniently located with lots of good eating places around Hong Lim and Chinatown area. Chinatown MRT station is literally next door. Lovely experience for this stay.
