Hainanese Chicken & Roast Chicken

Yi Lu Fa Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice serves hainanese chicken rice and roast chicken rice. Seen above is with both hainanese chicken and roast chicken, served with a plate of rice, soup and chilli sauce.

The hainanese chicken has tender and smooth meat, and its skin is soft and smooth. The roast chicken has meaty flesh and flavourful skin. These are deboned and served on a plate with some cucumber slices and soya sauce seasoning added. Personally I like their hainanese chicken more as it is tender and smooth.

The rice served is firm and fairly fragrant and flavourful. The soup served is a savoury tasting chicken soup with radish slices. As for the chilli, it is the usual garlicky and limey tasting chilli sauce that goes with chicken rice.

This serving of chicken rice is quite likeable.

Wanton Mee

Wanton mee is available here as well. This serving of wanton mee comes with slices of char siew served on a plate of tossed noodles, and a bowl of wanton soup is served on the side. The fried wanton seen above is an extra add on.

Fatty char siew is requested for this. The char siew is meaty with some nice soft fatty parts. It has a slightly sweet taste and is rather decent. The noodles is springy . It is tossed with a nicely flavoured soya sauce seasoning sauce. Comes with some vegetables and crispy lard pieces.

The soup served is a savoury tasting chicken soup containing a few pieces of wanton. The wanton has a soft skin wrapper with decently flavoured meat filling. As for the fried wanton, it has an airy crispy skin with soft meat filling. It is decent too.

Overall, this is a decent plate of wanton mee. Quite likeable too.
