Xin Ji HK Style Soya Sauce Chicken serves soya sauce chicken with either rice or noodles. This is their soya sauce chicken noodles. It comes with slices of soya sauce chicken served on a plate of tossed noodles with some vegetables.
The soya sauce chicken meat is soft and meaty. Its skin is really smooth with nice soya sauce flavourings. The noodles are springy and fairly firm with decent seasoning flavours. The noodles itself has a little hint of alkaline flavours though. Comes served on the side with a bowl of savoury tasting soup with a slight herbal taste.
This plate of soya sauce chicken noodles is quite a decent one.
Char Siew & Siu Yuk Rice
Besides soya sauce chicken, char siew and siu yuk is available here as well. Seen above is their char siew and siu yuk rice.
The char siew is the lean meat type. It is quite soft and meaty with a slightly sweet taste. The siu yuk has a slightly savoury taste, is meaty with some soft fatty parts. The rice provided is plain white rice that is a little hard and dry. Some soya sauce seasoning sauce is added but tastes rather bland. An optional savoury tasting chilli paste can be added on the side.
This plate of char siew and siu yuk rice is quite an ordinary one. Go for the soya sauce chicken, it is better.
