The Food Steps

is a western food stall serving the usual meats. Their fried chicken is really good.

Fried Chicken

This 2pc fried chicken meal comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken, coleslaw, fries and a bun. The fried chicken has nice savoury flavours. It has a light and crispy batter with moist and juicy meat. The chicken skin is especially good. Recommended, and my one star goes to this.

The fries are quite crispy and the coleslaw is decent as well. As for the bun, it is fried with a mild crispy but it is a tad oily.

Fish & Chips

The fish & chips comes with a deep fried fish fillet, fries and coleslaw. No bun here and a dollop of mayonnaise is provided at the side. Similarly to the fried chicken, the fried fish fillet has a very nice batter than is light and crispy, and moist fish meat inside. Nice!

Mixed Grill

The mixed grill on the other hand is quite a disappointment. This mixed grill comes with a piece of pork chop, a piece of chicken chop, a sausage, a sunny side egg, fries and some vegetables, with black pepper sauce added.

The grilled chicken chop is moist and tender and tastes decent, but its chicken skin is soft and isn’t crispy. As for the grilled pork chop, it is hard and tough, definitely not tender. It is fairly moist and tastes decent though. Can probably give the grilled pork chop a miss here.

The fries are crispy, the sausage and fried egg are just your regular stuff. The black pepper sauce is fairly decent, but its taste is a bit on the light side. I would have preferred the black pepper sauce with more intense and peppery flavours.

Personally I think that the fried stuff at The Food Steps is way better than the grilled meats.
