Seng Huat Western Food

is a fairly popular stall selling the usual western food options. Decent.

Mixed Grill

This plate of mixed grill comes with a bit of everything: pork chop, chicken chop, fish fillet, sausage, fried egg, fries, garlic bread, baked beans and a couple of cucumber slices. Do note that the fish fillet is a replacement for their fried chicken wing as they ran out of it.

The grilled pork chop is meaty and grilled with a mildly crispy outsides. Its flavourings are nice but the meat is kind of tough. The fatty parts are juicy and nice though. As for the grilled chicken chop, it is quite dry and rough. The chicken skin is grilled nicely to a light crisp with slight charring. Flavours are decent but the meat is too dry. Just average for the chicken chop. Both of these grilled meats comes topped with a nicely flavoured mushroom sauce.

The fish fillet is given as a replacement for their fried chicken wing which they ran out of. This fish fillet has nice crispy batter outside, soft and moist fish meat inside. Topped with a dollop of mayonnaise. Tastes nice. Likewise for the sausage, it is deep dried with a crispy batter outside, soft and juicy inside. It has nice savoury flavours, and I like it.

The fried egg has watery yolk and crispy sides, nice. The garlic toast is on the dty side and turning soft. The fries are lightly salted and soft as well, not so nice. I like my fries crispy.

Overall this mixed grill is literally a mixed bag with a couple of nice ones and mostly misses. Just ordinary.

Chicken Cutlet

The fried chicken cutlet comes served with fries, garlic toast, bake beans and a couple of cucumber slices. Its flavours are decent but its flesh is quite dry. The garlic toast tastes dry as well. The fries are soft and not crispy at all. This is at most average. A much better chicken cutlet is at Renee’s Western Cuisine, located across the road at Great World City.

Fish Fillet

Instead of the usual western style with fries and garlic toast, you can choose to go with rice. The rice version uses plain white rice and comes served with a sunny side egg with watery yolk and topped with some black soya sauce. The fish fillet has a crispy batter with soft and moist fish meat inside, topped with a dollop of mayonnaise. I quite like the fish fillet here. It is decent.
