Mini Pot Mee Pok

Quan Xiang Mushroom Minced Meat Noodle dishes out fishball noodles and minced meat noodles with the usual options of noodles. Shown here is their mini pot with mee pok.

This mini pot comes with quite a bit of ingredients: pork balls, minced pork, pork slices, fish dumpling, fish cake slices, crab stick and a raw egg. It is served together with a bowl of mee pok topped with sliced mushrooms.

The pork balls are soft and springy with nice flavours. The pork slices is soft and tender, with hints of hua diao wine seasoning. Same for the minced meat. Very nice! The fish dumpling, crab stick and raw egg are just your regular stuff.

The soup is surprisingly quite nice. It isn’t overly salty like many other fishball soup. It is a clear and light soup with some tastes of pork. I am not exactly a soup person and yet I had almost finished the whole pot of soup! It is really nice.

As for the noodles, the mee pok is springy and mixed with a vinegar, chilli and lard mixture. Just mild vinegar flavours and not too intense. It comes with some stewed mushroom slices which are soft and tastes rather good. It doesn’t have the strong smell and intense tastes usually associated with these stewed mushrooms. Not too salty either.

This is definitely an enjoyable meal of mee pok. I like it.
