Nasi Lemak

Market Street Nasi Lemak serves nasi lemak with green tinted pandan rice and selection of sides. Seen above is with fried chicken drumstick, luncheon meat, fish fillet, egg omelette, ikan bilis and peanuts, and served with a slightly sweet tasting chilli paste on the side.

First, the rice. It is cooked with pandan leaves, giving it a green hue. The rice is very fragrant with light coconut milk flavours. Next, the fried chicken drumstick. It is lightly crispy outside, moist and meaty inside. Its skin is crispy and has nice seasoning flavours. The fried fish fillet likewise is crispy outside and soft inside. The ikan bilis is crispy and the peanuts are crunchy. As for the egg omelette, it has a savoury taste. The luncheon meat is your regular canned ones with mildly crispy sides.

This plate of nasi lemak is rather decent and likeable.
