Lai Fa Handmade Noodle

serves an assortment ban mian, fish soup, dumplings, etc. Quite ordinary though.

Mee Hoon Kueh

This mee hoon kueh comes with minced meat bits, vegetables, a raw egg and topped with some ikan bilis and fried shallots. The mee hoon kueh itself is rather soft and not firm and springy. The minced meat is fairly soft and meaty and the raw egg is soft. The ikan bilis has a savoury taste and is still mildly crispy. As for the soup, it is a clear soup that has light flavourings. Quite ordinary but still rather decent.

Gan Lao Mian

Gan lao mian is the dry version served using tossed you mian. It comes with minced meat bits, fried wanton, a boiled egg, vegetables and topped with some ikan bilis and fried shallots.

The you mian is rather firm and springy, tossed in a decently flavoured black sauce seasoning. The minced meat is soft and meaty, and the ikan bilis is crispy. The fried wanton has crispy skin with soft meat filling, and the egg is just your regular kind of boiled egg. This gan lao mian is rather decent.

Double Fish Soup

This double fish soup comes with fried fish nuggets and sliced fish, together with some small piece of tofu, tomato, vegetables and topped with ikan bilis and fried shallots. Usual choice of noodles and rice is available. Ban mian is chosen for this one.

The fried fish nugget is meaty with a soft fried crust and floury taste. The sliced fish is decently soft and not exactly smooth. Both are rather ordinary. As for the ban mian, it is fairly firm and springy but with a slight alkaline flavour that stays with the soup.

This one is rather ordinary. Maybe a different choice of noodles can make this slightly better.

Dumplings

There are 2 types of dumplings served here, the boiled ones and the deep fried ones. The dumplings are a soft and chewy skin wrapping a decently flavoured meat and vegetables filling. The fried dumpling has a nice crispiness to its skin. Personally I like the fried dumplings over the boiled ones here.
