Hainanese Chicken Rice

Kampong Chicken Eating House uses kampong chickens for their hainanese chicken rice. The chicken rice comes with a plate of chicken, a bowl of rice, a bowl of soup and a chilli sauce.

This hainanese chicken is the cold type. It has very smooth chicken skin with visible clear jelly fats. Its flesh is tender and moist. As kampong chicken is generally smaller in size and leaner, there is not much meat attached to the bones. The sliced chicken comes served on a plate with a slightly sweet tasting soya sauce seasoning and some cucumber slices. This plate of chicken tastes really good!

The bowl of rice served is rather fragrant with a firm texture and is flavourful. The soup served is a very nicely flavoured vegetables soup. As for the chilli sauce, it is very garlicky with slightly limey and spicy flavours. Goes rather well with the hainanese chicken.

This serving of hainanese chicken rice using kampong chicken is lovely. Truly enjoyable.

Ngo Hiang

This ngo hiang is made of minced chicken meat with some carrots and water chestnut bits. Its filling has a nice seasoning and meaty flavours, with a crispy skin outside. Comes with a sweet dipping sauce on the side. This ngo hiang is quite likeable.
