Fried Carrot Cake

Golden Chopsticks does fried carrot cake in the usual black and white options. Seen above is their yuan yang which comes with both black and white versions of their fried carrot cake.

The white version is fried flat pancake style with an egg coating that is slightly crispy. The black version uses the same small radish cubes fried with egg and has sweet black sauce added, giving it a mildly sweet taste. There are some crispy parts which are rather nice. Served on the sides are some chye poh with nice savoury flavours, and a nice dried shrimp flavoured chilli paste.

This fried carrot cake is rather decent and likeable.

Fried Oyster Omelette

Besides fried carrot cake, fried oyster omelette is served here too. This fried oyster omelette has a layer of starch pan fried first with eggs added on top, giving a slight little crisp to this fried egg and starch mixture with a bit of chewiness from the starchy bits. Some spring onions are added to it, as well as some decently sized oysters. Also, it seems that some chye poh is added into the egg mixture as I can taste the slightly sweet flavours of chye poh. Served on the side is a watery chilli sauce dip that is mildly spicy and slightly limey.

Although this fried oyster omelette is not exactly the crispy type, it is still rather decent.
