Char Siew & Siu Yuk Rice

This char siew and siu yuk rice comes with slices of char siew and siu yuk on a plate of plain white rice and a bowl of soup on the side. An optional chilli paste is available.

Fatty char siew is requested for this. The char siew is mostly fat with just a little meat. It is soft and a little meaty with a nice sweet taste. As for the siu yuk, it is meaty with crispy skin. Nice savoury flavours. Both are nice.

The rice has a nice firm texture with a sweet seasoning sauce added. The soup is nicely flavoured with a hint of dang gui. The chilli paste has nice dried shrimp flavours.

This char siew and siu yuk rice is truly enjoyable. I like it.

Wanton Mee

Noodles is available here as well. The wanton mee comes with slices of char siew served on a plate of tossed noodles with a bowl of wanton soup.

Fatty char siew is requested for this as well. This time, the char siew slices provided are half fatty type. It is soft and meaty with nice sweet flavours. The wanton has a soft skin wrapping a flavourful meat filling with a note of pepper. The soup has nice savoury flavours with a dang gui taste.

As for the noodles, it is springy and tossed in a nicely flavoured seasoning sauce with a slight smokey taste. It is tossed together with some crispy lard pieces. A small serving of vegetables is included on the side.

This wanton mee is lovely and tastes quite good. I like it too.
